The number of illnesses now linked to salmonella-infected tomatoes has jumped to 228. That's according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC has found 61 new cases in half a dozen new states. Those states include Florida, Georgia, Missouri, New York, Tennessee and Vermont. Several restaurants and grocery story removed tomatoes from their menus and shelves after reports of the Salmonella surfaced.
